Episode 35 – Craig Colquitt (Britton and Dustin Colquitt – Father)

I was introduced to Craig Colquitt through Phil Carson, whom I met at Podcast Multimedia Expo (a must for podcasters). Craig is the father of Britton and Dustin Colquitt and part of the University of Tennessee Football punting dynasty. My friend and UT alumni Mikie Gause was thrilled when I told her Craig was going to be a guest. Her quote “you can always count on a Colquitt”.

The Colquitt’s are a punting phenomenon, Craig, Dustin and Britton all punted for U of Tenn and all three are NFL Superbowl winners as punters. Craig won two Superbowl rings with the Pittsburgh Steelers (1979 & 80) while Dustin won with the Kansas City Chefs (2020) and Britton won his ring with the Denver Broncos (2016).

Craig is an amazing father, artist and has some amazing football and life stories he shares on this episode. From playing with Terry Bradshaw to watching his sons develop from soccer players into NFL punters. I can say I truly learned a lot about punting and thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with Craig. I think you will also. Oh and it seems the Colquitt punting dynasty may continue as Dustin’s son are already making a new mark on the football field.

Episode 34 – Athena Finger (Bill Finger – Granddaughter)

#Batman fans of all ages owe this episode’s guest a listen and a share. Athena Finger is the granddaughter of Bill Finger, the co-creator of the Batman comics with Bob Kane, although Athena and her father had to fight for many many years to make sure Bill received credit.

She was introduced to me through Bill Field from Episode #1 of this podcast. Athena is an artist, a teacher and spends much of her time keeping her grandfather Bill’s legacy alive. She travels to comic conventions meeting fans of Bill’s work, shares stories of the battle to get him and other comic book writers and artist the credit they deserve. She is also campaigning to get Bill a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Whether Batman, Green Lantern, Joker, Catwoman, Alfred or Mirror Man is your favorite character you’ll love learning about Athena and her love of her grandfather’s work, and being bold as an artist with her own style.

Episode 33 – Gabriel Cannon (Nick Cannon – Brother)

While researching potential guests I ran across a post on Nick Cannon’s brother Gabriel Cannon winning the TV show Claim to Fame. Having worked with Nick early in his career on the Nickelodeon show Snick House. I knew I had to ask Gabriel if he would be a guest on my podcast. During our interview I discovered Gabriel is an amazing young man who has stood in the Hollywood limelight with his brother, toured with Mariah Carey, has music in his blood and knows the value of giving back in-order to live a fulfilled life. He stepped away from the Hollywood hustle, went to Bible college, now mentors some of societies most troubled youth and has plans for a youth camp to help these kids who went down or are on the wrong path. I promise you Gabriel’s enthusiasm for life will lift your day and make you ask yourself, what can I do to help America’s lost kids?
